Betty Powers, 87, of Greeneville, formerly of Clinchco, Virginia, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015, at the home of her daughter in Greeneville, Tennessee.

She was the retired head accountant for Super Value.

Mrs. Powers was of the Christian faith.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Becky and George Sydnor of Greeneville; a son and daughter-in-law: Jerry and Deborah Powers of Bluff City, Tennessee; grandchildren: Gina Hendry, Wayne Powers, Lindsey Fraser, Beth Foshie, and Katie Sydnor; great grandchildren: Lexi Fraser, James Powers, and Mattie Foshie; several nieces and nephews; and her special...

Betty Powers, 87, of Greeneville, formerly of Clinchco, Virginia, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015, at the home of her daughter in Greeneville, Tennessee.

She was the retired head accountant for Super Value.

Mrs. Powers was of the Christian faith.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Becky and George Sydnor of Greeneville; a son and daughter-in-law: Jerry and Deborah Powers of Bluff City, Tennessee; grandchildren: Gina Hendry, Wayne Powers, Lindsey Fraser, Beth Foshie, and Katie Sydnor; great grandchildren: Lexi Fraser, James Powers, and Mattie Foshie; several nieces and nephews; and her special friends and caregivers: Betty McKinney, Patsy Whipkey, and the staff of Caris Healthcare.

She was the daughter of the late Carl Garrett and Sallie Combs Yates and was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Powers; grandsons, Ritt Powers and Matt Sydnor; and two sisters, Margaret Musick and Marie Yates.

The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Tuesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

A Graveside Service will be held at 3 pm Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood, Virginia.
