Obituary


Irene C. Vires, 80, of the Chuckey Community, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015 at the home of her daughter.

She was a homemaker and farmer.

Mrs. Vires attended Fairview Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Our mother was our best friend and was a super Mom.

Survivors include two daughters: Carolyn Sells of Limestone and Connie Smith and husband, Richard, of Greeneville; two sons: Jeffery Godsey and Greg Godsey and wife, Jennifer, of Greeneville; grandchildren: Johnny Lee Sells, Brandon Smith and wife, Letisha, Kara Godsey, Heather Godsey, and Katelin Godsey; two sisters and...

Survivors include two daughters: Carolyn Sells of Limestone and Connie Smith and husband, Richard, of Greeneville; two sons: Jeffery Godsey and Greg Godsey and wife, Jennifer, of Greeneville; grandchildren: Johnny Lee Sells, Brandon Smith and wife, Letisha, Kara Godsey, Heather Godsey, and Katelin Godsey; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Alice Cross of Bluff City and Clara and Gene Denton of Jonesborough; a brother and sister-in-law: Charles and Geraldine Cole of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

She was the daughter of the late William and Lucy Cole and was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond Godsey; her second husband, Edward Vires; and several brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 pm Tuesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 8 pm Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ronnie Duncan officiating.

Interment will be 2 pm Wednesday in Andrew Johnson National Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at 1 pm Wednesday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
