Steve Alex Brown, 74, of Midway, passed away Monday, November 28, 2016, n the home he built, surrounded by his loving family.

He was a retired brick and block mason.

Mr. Brown attended St. Joseph Free Will Baptist Church when his health permitted.

He was a U. S. Navy veteran.

He was a retired brick and block mason.

He was a U. S. Navy veteran.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years: Diana Brown; son and daughter-in-law: Billy Joe and Carita Brown of Greeneville; daughters and sons-in-law: Melissa Shelton of Midway, Rene and Ken Weems of Mosheim, Christina and Randy Weems of Afton; grandchildren: Alec Brown, Sadie Brown, Ashley and Nathan Morgan, Alyssa and Eric Dyer, Arlene Kennedy, Aaron and Brandi (special caregiver)Weems, Dakota Weems, Adam Foshie; step-grandchildren: Brittany Lynch and Dustin Weems; great grandchildren: Noah Weems, Katherine Weems and Madisyn Miller; brothers and sister-in-law: J. T. and Linda Brown, Roger Brown, Kent Brown; sister and brother-in-law: Martha and Junior Willett; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law and special friend: Dennis Fox; brother-in-law: Gary Fox; and special friends: Henard and Sue Ella Myers, Jim Steele, and many others.

He was the son of the late Joe and Lizzie Brown and was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Brown; a sister, Mary Kay Boyd; special mother-in-law, Bessie Fox; and a special brother-in-law, Herbert Johnson.

The family will receive friends 1-3 and 5-7 pm Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 7 pm Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Roger Ealey and Rev. Mike Mack officiating.

Interment will be at 11 am Friday in River Hill Cemetery. The Greene County Honor Guard and the U. S. Navy Military Honors Team will conduct a military
graveside service.

Pallbearers will be Nathan Morgan, Eric Dyer, Tyler Gilbert, Dwayne Fox, Derek Fox, and Troy Cutshaw.

Honorary pallbearers are Cody and Chase Melton, Billy Varney, and the Mosheim Town Hall Lunch Bunch.

The family wished to express a special thanks to the staff of Caris Hospice.
